Thank you all for a successful 2000! Robyn's Nest~The Parenting Network wishes you all a safe, happy and healthy New Year!
Sportsmanship - If you have children active in sports, you've
probably experienced some shocking behavior. No, not from the children,
but from the parents in the stands! In an effort to make parents aware
of how their actions affect the children, we have published "A Child's
Plea." We encourage you to print this one and share it with your friends.

RSV - RSV occurs in epidemic almost every winter. Whereas infants
with RSV develop bronchiolitis, children over 2 years and adults just
develop a cold. RSV can become quite serious if left untreated. For
symptoms and more information, http://www.robynsnest.com/bronchiolitis.htm
Rotavirus - Rotavirus commonly causes seasonal diarrhea in infants
and young children, and sometimes is called "winter diarrhea." In children
ages three months to two years, rotavirus is one of the most common
causes of gastroenteritis, and it often causes outbreaks of diarrhea
in day-care centers and children's hospitals. Rotavirus infections cause
approximately 50,000 hospitalizations a year in the United States for
diarrhea and dehydration. Learn more about rotavirus and how to prevent
this illness. http://www.robynsnest.com/rotavirus.htm
Croup - Croup is a viral infection of the vocal cords. It usually
accompanies a cold. If you've ever heard the distinctive cough, you
understand the fear that first time parents experience. Croup is very
common in the winter months. While croup sounds scary, most remedies
are quite simple and can be done from home. Check out http://www.robynsnest.com/croup.htm
for more information.
Chores - The Right Job for the Right Age - Giving children chores
help build their self-esteem. While we feel most parents understand
the concept, we've some suggestions to help carry out the principal.
It all starts with choosing an age appropriate job. http://www.robynsnest.com/chores.htm.
